1. Never share confidential credentials
Never disclose passwords, OTPs, UPI PINs, card PINs, card security codes, API keys, private tokens or other authentication credentials to unknown persons. Legitimate support personnel should not require your confidential PIN or OTP.
2. Be alert to impersonation
Treat unexpected calls, messages, social-media contacts, QR codes, screen-sharing requests and links claiming to be from banks, payment providers, government departments or Teja Finance with caution. Verify requests using official channels.
3. If money has just been fraudulently transferred
Act immediately. Contact your bank or payment provider through its official fraud-reporting channel, request appropriate protective action and record the complaint or service-request number.
4. National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930
In India, suspected cyber financial fraud can be reported immediately by calling the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930. Prompt reporting may help relevant authorities and financial intermediaries act on the transaction trail.
5. National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
Cybercrime complaints may also be reported through the Government of India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in. Keep the acknowledgement or complaint number generated through the official reporting process.
6. Notify the bank promptly
For suspected unauthorised electronic banking transactions, users should promptly notify their bank. Customer liability and the bank's handling of an unauthorised transaction may depend on the circumstances and the time taken to report it under applicable banking rules and the bank's policy.
7. UPI fraud
If a UPI transaction is suspected to be fraudulent, contact the bank and the relevant UPI application or payment provider promptly. Do not approve collect requests or enter a UPI PIN merely to receive money.
8. Secure your account after suspected compromise
Change compromised passwords, secure the registered email account, review active sessions, contact the relevant bank or payment provider and protect associated devices. Revoke exposed API credentials or tokens where business integrations are affected.
9. Preserve transaction evidence
Retain transaction IDs, UTRs, account or UPI references, dates, amounts, fraud-related messages, screenshots and complaint references. Such information may assist banks, service providers or law-enforcement authorities in reviewing the matter.
10. Report Teja Finance-related concerns
Fraud or security concerns relating to Teja Finance services may also be reported to info@tejafinance.com with relevant non-sensitive transaction information. Never email passwords, OTPs, PINs or full authentication credentials.
